Cesaria Evora
Cesaria Evora has become something of a legend in her lifetime. Her personality, the resuscitation of her career, her music, everything seems to have come out of a novel, and yet it's all true. Born on August 27th 1941, on the Cape Verdian island of Mindelo, she struggled as an artist until the early Nineties. She has since become one of Africa’s most charismatic singers, taking her “saudade” to the four corners of the world. |

Strictly Mundial
Zaragoza, capital of Aragon in the northern mountains of Spain, and the host city for the very first edition of the Strictly Mundial, the world music trade fair organised by the members of the European World Music Forum Festival. This year, it was down to the Pirineus Sur festival's team to undertake the sizeable task of setting up the stands, preparing the concert halls and running the impressively modern Congress Hall to welcome the weird and wonderful diversity of the best in World music.
